Putting a top on my 13 touring and I have no
information on the mounting of the rear roll up window or how the straps for it are placed or used. Any help
The straps go to the inboard side of the roll up section between the top and the rear bow so that it hangs down in front of the flap. Just outboard of the clear part. That way when you roll it up the straps come up and attach to pins on the outside of the top of the bow.
picture???
Here are some photos of mine. Hope they are helpful.
An outside photo showing the pins on the top.
The car is in a trailer.
Here is a recent thread on top installation on a 13 touring with pictures: http://www.mtfca.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=331880&post=498536
Keep one thing in mind, those straps that hold up the rear curtain when rolled up, slap everyone in the back of the head when travelling with the back down, whether it be a touring or a runabout.
Line up everything first and CENTRE your work.
Looks kinda funny using my references for doing the job, my wife will be chuffed.
best of luck David.
I have some original straps from a ROADSTER, so I don't know if the touring is the same or not. They are two pieces of thin leather sewn together, and have an interesting shape. I even have the print for the roadster straps.
