I drove the 23 TT to town last week, ive got a Speedometer APP on my phone. Running smooth at 33mph. I was not in overdrive. I was suprised I was going that fast. I thought top speed was 22mph? Well I backed off to 25mph and the ride was much better.

Which rear end?

If you were in direct and planetary high you must have high ratio rear end gears, and even at that, 33 is really moving. Engine must be running great!

My 26 C Cab will do 42 on flat ground, 5;17 in the rear end 650-20 tires. Scott

The Muncie was in Direct. I will check the rear in ratio this weekend.

My 7.25:1 likes it between 20 and 25 mph. I'm betting you have the high speed rear end. I thought about getting a high speed gear set, but......

Fred,

Regardless of gear ratios, auxiliary transmission gear or Ruckstel position - ALWAYS keep it under 60 in the corners :-) :-) :-) <grin>

Like Hal I have a 7.25:1 rear end gear set in my TT. However, I also have a Muncie, so I can get it going about 33 MPH, but I don't like it. Around 25 MPH in hi/3 is comfortable.

My stock, er...uh...well 40 over stock will do 50.
That might not be real impressive but I was tickeled! We usually don't push the ol' gal higher than 35.

Mine like it around 15 to 18mph, anything over that and the engine is really turning.

Bob,

I had my TT up to 60 MPH once. Of course it was on a trailer at the time. :-)

The said thing is that I sold the truck last weekend. Or should I say she sold herself.
I sat her at the 1930's station as a prop for the car show. That evening a 70 year old gentleman had parked his model a there and was sitting in the truck. He told the station owner he wanted to buy the truck...Not for sale he said. The fella wanted to talk with me about the truck...so later we met. He loved the truck I could tell, just like she is... rusty and tired looking. His model A looked the same way...I knew he would enjoy and drive her...I gave him a price. Sunday he wanted to drive it,so I sat beside him and we took of down the road at 8am. I felt like I was riding with my GrandPa. I will find another truck. But I can say I brought this truck back to life and got her on the road...another T saved!!! And I also made a good Friend...who knows I might get her back some day!
So our deal is done,Im doing the bands for him and rebuilding the Hogshead. I learned alot about T's working on her. Shes going to Ashland VA.
Now I can start on my 21 T.

My personal best in a TT is 58mph, had to out run my buddies 26 coupe with overdrive, motor was screaming up a storm but she took it well. Not my usual cruising speed of course.

My best was 52 on the GPS, then the governor cut in. It was my white knuckles that saved the day.

Sincerely

I personally had a TT up to 75mph, but it was an Audi TT if it matters . . .
