After having my lung transplant out here in Durham, I had the opportunity to go on tour with the Tarheel Model T Club. It had been raining all week and was still raining as we drove out to the meeting site. I didn't think it was going to happen, when Don Ellis pulled in with his beautiful 1911. We toured over to a private airport where they usually spend the day playing T driving games. With the grass as wet as it was, and just five brave Drivers turning out, it was decided to go over to small show called the "Hit and Miss Crank Up". We later returned to the airport for lunch in the hanger. Great time, great food, great people and beautiful country!
I had hoped Mack Cole would attend, but he didn't make it.

I had not seen a two Maytag engines joined together to make a four cylinder opposed Maytag. Very nice runner too!

That is 1 of the best bunch of folks to hang out with you can find.
That touring of Don's ran well and looked good Before but now looks better than it ever coulda been new.
Lance,
I'm glad you had a great time. T - folks are some of the best folks. Glad to hear you are on the mend after the surgery, follow the doctors orders. And yes, Don's 1911 looks great!
Respectfully submitted,

Lance,
Good to hear your finding some T'ers in NC while you recover. I'll see you in a few months back in your "home" state.
