Gentlemen,
I need all model T engine's diameter gaps for crankshaft, rods, cylinders, rings ...
I don't know if it is correct in English, but I have to find all model T gaps for measure my hole engine and check if we have to rebuild it or not.
Thank you once again!
Info on std. motor specs from the Club Encycl page
http://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/E.htm#eng7
And this chart on service tolerances.
No 13- tappet clearance!! now that's some serious clearance, as if a T hasn't already got enough rattles clicks and knocks.
Frank l hear you there, l set mine between 0.011" - 0.013" both ex and in.
The ring gap for the top as written must be for those step rings 0.005"-0.012", 0.003-0.004" per inch of bore ????? = 4" x 0.004" = 0.016" gapping.
How are you doing... getting cold now.
Yes Dave, I'm happy with that too, on the modern valves, getting cold alright, bit of frost first thing but still don't need that sewing machine oil to crank start the T's.
A bit of shed work at the moment, going through Warwick's 16, started with a fix in the trans but ended up with a full dismantle and check-out, by spring it might be a road trip for some veterans up your way!
