Dose any one know literature dealers or people who sell "car sales brochures" in California or west coast area, I know they were "called paper dealers" when I went to a few in the early nineties while I was over there. I am looking for a Mustang title or title for 1966 or 1968, I have a add running in the classifieds with my email but you have to remove the AU. Can any one give me an idea of were to find the dealers please... Ray

I don't think you can legally buy a title in California without buying a car. You might buy a copy of a title, but it would be unusable as an actual title.

California is a fairly easy state to get a title for your non - titled car provided you have a valid bill of sale.

Walter Miller is a very active dealer in automotive literature, and there are others. Try a search here:

Hello Royce, Now the title for my car is here in Australia with the importer but he is stone walling me with excuses as to why he can not give it to me, I know he is lying as he said he had it when I looked at the car for the first time and I am tiring to get one from the DMV in California but I am over here and they are not able to help me and that's why I want to buy another even if we do get a copy of the original which will not happen just so I can put it with the display board at car shows.
I looked on ebay and there are plenty of non fords up to the mid 60's and lots of Model T and Model A titles for sale.
Thank you Steve as I have not checked there so I will head there now... Ray

If all else fails, you can try to get a member in a so called, non-title, state obtain one for you, if possible. Most U.S. states probably were issuing titles by the years that you mention, but Broadway claims to be able to obtain a title for vehicles up to 1995. Their web is broadwaytitle.com There has been discussion that some states are not accepting titles obtained by Broadway title (in Birmingham, Alabama, but they are still advertising and I have obtained two titles from them and had no trouble transferring them in Texas.

Is the title with the importer in your name and do you have access to the car? If so have you tried to get a duplicate title?
