Ok I have a "C" crank and want to use it in my A block. I got a list of bearing sizes but need to know the size of the A block with the babbitt removed. Thanks for any help you can give. Thanks, Scott

1.623/1.624 was finish size after Babbitt on factory drawing. Bore scales 1.750 there (before Babbitt.)

Your will be getting real close to the bolt holes if you have to go to 2.000"

(I think that crank is 1.875 mains stock)

John, The crank is 1.980 and will clean at 1.965 I think. I didnt think about the bolt holes. So thank you John for the info. I can now pick the bearing I want. Scott

Royce Peterson senior has a C crank in his Model A. I think he had the crank mains machined undersize.

Ted I know that has been done. Iam just trying to keep the mains as large as I can. I have a machine shop so I can handle most of the work. Thanks everyone for your input, Scott

Well Ed I didnt think of that. I was told that the B blocks crack a lot in the deck area. So I think I will be on the look out for a good B block and see how it goes. thanks, Scott
