Assembling an engine and I can't find the timing mark on the crank gear so I need help!!!!!
The crank gear timing mark is aligned with the tooth that aligns with the woodruff key. In other words, the woodruff key slot can be substituted for the timing mark. Just be careful because the tooth you're looking for aligns with the woodruff key slot at the midpoint of the gear's thickness, not at the face of the gear. Due to the helix angle of the gear tooth, the proper tooth looks slightly misaligned from the key slot at the crank gear face.
On original crank gears I believe the word "Ford" in tiny letters is on the gear at the proper place.
