Thanks Tom!
Congrats to the SoCal contingent! Not a bad performance, considering the distance that you travelled just to get to the start.
Have fun and keep cranking.
Eric
Thanks Tom. 52.64 for a Coupe loaded with spares! Very impressive. good to see Gene having a good run.
What happened to Rick???????
The pink car came third? But it is not a fast enough colour.
Scott Conger and the Suncoast "T" Club are rooting for Milt.
GO MILT!
Thanks for posting the results Tom, and please tell Milt that I said "HI!"
Obviously everyone should have tried to get number 1, then their car would have gone faster. Lol, the top 10 calls all finish in order according to their number?
Rick broke his crank. Lukowski shucked a magnet. The car numbers were copied incorrectly. Two more days to go. Stay tuned!
Scott;
Looks like Milt Roorda is the only one from this side of the Mississippi.
Atta boy, Milt! But you might need more lead in your right hand. Bob
Sorry to hear about Rick and Milt's bad luck.
Tom, Thanks for posting.
Robert, 'Lead Right Hand' That's a good one! Thanks for the chuckle with my morning cup of Joe.
I'm glad to see the 500 is still going strong. I still remember seeing them stop at Hebgen Lake in 1964. Ed Towe and Lewis Rector were especially gracious enough to answer questions and give a kid encouragement on fixing a model T. I think it was nearly all Montanans back then. Not many things thrive and keep going that many years.
Rich
Thanks for the up-dates!!
Mark;
Isn't Milt Roorda still in the running?
Milt,
Us "Early Ford" guys are pulling for you (of course, we are pulling for all of you brave and mechanically adept enough to pull this off).
Good luck, and keep us posted,
Rob
Surprised nobody has posted any photos. Here are a couple from the parking lot of the Grand Union in Fort Benton on Sunday evening.
Love the brass on Milt's car! Hard to meet a nicer fella.
Why is Milt not running clinchers? They have less aerodynamic drag and less rolling resistance.
The early fenders are much draggier than the late ones.
Milt: RIGHT ON!!!! GOOD RACING!!!! My Ts only go 28-31 mph. Bill Saitta
Come on Milt, Tennessee is rooting for you too!!!!

The whole club's behind you, so let 'er rip!

Congratulations to Garrett Green winner of the 2013 Montana 500!
That is indeed an accomplishment! Congrats to all who participated.
Vintage Paul
Congrats everyone. Half the entrants averaged over 50 mph
Sorry Milt; I for some reason read something wrong and typed your name instead of Dan Z's.
Great job. Very impressive. I'd like to see the run someday,
Rob
Thanks Tom for posting the results so soon after each run. You folks did the "T" proud and a awesome job. Bill
I sure hope Tom Carnegie will post a chart showing the results for all the drivers.
Tom, didn't you run a coupe this time, sure would like to see some pics of it.

You can see a few photos of Tom's coupe at:

He did very well considering he had a little weight disadvantage and maybe was pushing more air then the roadsters.
Jim
Thank God another year's race is over and no one got killed.
To quote a Calgary friend of mine, George. "You wanna die at 75 coming out of turn three with a grin on your face like a ripple on a slop bucket or at 80 sitting in your wheelchair at the rest home with slobber running down your chin?"
There has never been a serious wreck on the Mt 500 as far as I know. I only remember one time of a car in the ditch, of course, I've only been on a few of the races, Tom or Rick would know.
I agree with you sentiments of being glad no one got hurt but it hasn't proven to be very dangerous. Probably safer than driving the freeways in Houston during rush hour.
Where are the full results? I don't even see who came in second.
Everything is relative, and Stan, you did a great job of pointing that out. "A grin on your face like a ripple on a slop bucket?" That's beautiful! Thanks for a good laugh. Bob
Sorry for the delay. It is a long drive from Montana.

Thank you so much for the reports!
Drive carefully, and definitely enjoy! W2
Just so I don't get credit for something I didn't write, the "Ripple on a slop bucket" quote is from Roy Fulton, who has a way with words to say the least. I should have started writing some of his sayings down when I first met him 20 years ago and I have a book of "Royism's" to sell by now. One of my favorites: She wasn't really fat but if you wanted to walk all the way around her you'd better pack a lunch, eh?
Roy built a barnyard cruiser at 74 and is now hooked on racing. He is the guy on the cover of Vintage Ford a couple years ago coming out of turn 3 or whatever it was.
Here is a couple video links from this years run.

Thanks Mike for the great videos. Congratulations to Sergio for a well deserved win after a few years of trying! Cant wait to get over and have a run myself!
Sorry, Silly Mistake, just had Sergio on the brain after watching the video. Well done Garrett!
Thanks Tom & Mike for taking the time to keep all of us informed on the 500. We truly appreciate it.
Keith
It's alright Warwick, I know Sergio and Garrett and enjoy their friendly rivalry....it's fun to watch. They'll both be walking on air when they return to California, that'll be fun to watch too.
Congratulations Milt!. I'll bet you would have had a faster time if you we're running your O-2-O car! Would like to see you on one of the reunion tours, especially next year as Bob Osborn and I will be hosting it here in CT. Again well done!
Congrats to Garrett with an average speed just over 53 MPH for the 523 miles!
This was my first time at the 500 and really had a swell time with lots of fun and sure learned a lot.
It's a group of real t guys and gals up there that know how to make their T's really hum.
Thanks to everyone that made the event possible and running smooth. There was a lot of work done by a few and it turned out perfect without a hitch or a drop of rain during the race!
