Anyone know what is going on with Best Western in Chickasha? We have stayed there every year for the past 5 years and have always made our reservations for the coming year before departing. This year we were told that they were not accepting reservations for next year. Today I called to make reservations and was told that they are still not accepting reservations for next years swap meet dates.

It's probably because of the wild parties you had in your room.

I tried to make reservations at a motel, I was staying at for the next year, can't remember where now, but they said, I couldn't make reservations until the beginning of the year.

I made reservations for next year at Best Western the day I left from Chickasha.
I just called to 'reaffirm' the reservation I had made. Its Ok.
I can only speak for myself as I don't go together with a group to reserve a block of rooms.
I do remember hearing about rumors that some motels may stop reserving whole blocks of rooms.
Maybe just rumors.
Harold did you ask them why they weren't accepting your particular reservation?

When you call to make your reservation DON'T mention the swap meet. . . tell them you are coming to town to visit family! There was one event, and I don't remember if it was for this swap meet or something else David called said he was coming in for the swap meet and was told they were booked. I called back a few hours later - asked if they had any available rooms and was asked the reason for our visit. . . and I said my husband was coming to visit family in the area. . . and they booked the room!

Harold,
I couldn't make reservations for 2 nights but they would make reservations for three nights.......
with the same two nights that they couldn't make reservations for. Not Best Western.

I've also found, if you call the 800 number, to find no vacancy, but call the motel directly and get a room.
