We think something belongs on the bottom or was broken off? Should there not be a stud or something to hold the bottom of the tire.
Thank you for your help.
Yes, you are missing a stud on the bottom.
Yes, from the break the channel went straight up and had a stud and a hole in it to hold an almost mirrored part that held the rim in, using a rim nut.
I hope this picture is clear enough--I am missing the "mirrored part" to hold the rim in place--friction is doing the job right now!
This is an aftermarket sidemount accessory that uses the Ford spare mount. The part you have broken is rivet on, and could be replaced (in fact I have one of them now--thought it was the part I still need--oops!). Oh yeah, the stud is missing on mine (the one on the car, my "extra" has the stud! Hmmm wonder which will be easier to fix, adding the stud, or replacing the piece with my "good" one??

This older thread has a good picture of that part.

Dave,
I have the part that rivets onto the carrier that I don't currently need. PM me. Then you'll need the other part the vendors carry (Lang's 2012 catalog. page 35. part # 2849D)
Your spare tire rack is from a late '24 and '25. Notice the reinforcement dimples for the new style tailight.
