I'm putting together the bows for my 1914 Touring and the previous top was in shambles. I have the general drawings of the two man top dimensions that have appeared on the forum many times previously, but i need to know what the amount of top wood should be exposed above the socket of the iron for the 1914. Does anyone know this dimension, particularly for the center two bows so that the amount of 'rise' and 'fall' is correct?
The top bows get cut off and whittled into the sockets until they match the dimensions on the drawing.
The lengths in the drawing Royce posted correspond exactly to the Ford top drawing.
One bit of information that may be useful: Ford specified that the two vertical irons have the wood of the top bows driven into the sockets a distance of 5".
