There has been a lot of discussion on windshield flaps lately. Here are some photos of an original Ford flap that I removed from the top before I restored the car. There is another photo of the new flap I made installed on the same front bow. I included two additional photos of a similar flap that I just finished making for my '13 roadster.

You made that only using scissors and a weed whacker? I salute you! Nice job.

Larry, what are the snaps on the ends of the flap? do they snap to the side curtains?

Larry,
Thanks for posting the photos. I assume with the original one, that the protruding flap went against the window and the flat part wrapped around the front bow. Probably taking place of the bow drill that comes in the current kits.

Those snaps are Anzos, and I sure would like to find a couple! They are an odd size. They are for the side curtains. This flap is a separate item, and is tacked to the top of the front bow, and the flap part does indeed go against the window. The flap is a separate piece that is sewn to the horizontal portion that goes over the top of the front bow. The front bow IS NOT wrapped with bowdrill. It is wrapped with top material, which must be cut on the bias, or you won't be able to install it.
