Owning a Model T is a good way to meet pretty young women.
Happy motoring, Warren
I see the Model T. But where are the PRETTY, young women . . . ?
Either one of them could probably back a possum off a sweet potato.
Set,
Sorry to disagree but them there are BABES
from yesteryear .....
Jim
So the Model T is a "Chick Magnet"?
Seth, Considering most women did not wear any make up back in those days those two would have been considered above average in looks. Anyway, the "tom boyish" one on the left would make a great pal to go hunting and fishing with or crawling under a Model T to change the oil!
Lol! Before I said anything I checked myself and made sure I wrote off clothes, hair style, and even body type. My comment was based purely on their butter-faces. As in everything looks nice but her face.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some would say that is a pretty ugly car they are sitting on.
Rich
I think they look OK. The car makes them look better. They need to realize however that the Model T is a car and not a pair of unicycles.
Here she is.
Not only that, Michael, you could also invite the "tom boyish" one over to kill the bugs in the corners with those shoes. Jim Patrick
Young? Those women are at least 110 by now.
Uniforms?
ouch seth! durrnnnnn!
That's Viola LaLonde and Elizabeth Van Tuyl just before their long tour from Washington to San Francisco and back in 1922 This and another photo of them has been shown and discussed at Shorpy:
http://www.shorpy.com/node/13688
http://www.shorpy.com/node/13681
Here's a more realistic picture showing what kind of chick magnets most of the cars I like are
The one on the right has teeth.
Warren is from NH so he thinks any gal with teeth is puretty.
OH wait a minute -- it is the folks from KY that think that!
No NO KY guys like beautiful horses and fast women (or the other way around)-
It is AK and Maine folks that think women with teeth are the best!
Roger's picture is a coupe.
The two girls in the first photo are fine looking young women, they are honest and real, the one on the crank of the speedster is plastic and fake, and probably not a person one would want to be trapped in a cabin in a snow storm with. Some of you boys do not know what real beauty is.
I think it would be fun to see Jim Patrick's girl "make a great pal to go hunting and fishing with or crawling under a Model T to change the oil!"
I agree, but all these guys probably look like Brad Pitt and are more picky than some of us.
Here's another photo of the same young ladies.
Flying "low and slow" in a Model T.
Did anyone notice that both T's have straps to stop the crank handle from swinging?
There is nothing worse than a swinging crank!
Yea thats what I noticed!
The young woman cranking the speedster, Christina, is a very nice person. She's not standoffish or boring. I know both her and her sister (her sister used to work for me), and am friends with her on Facebook. She is a professional model but isn't stuck up.
I took the picture, by the way.....
Which would you rather see: these ladies in bikinis or a 600 pound woman in that same bikini. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, but lets face it...some people are blind.
William,
I bet Christina had no idea you'd make her immortal in the annals of automotive history. Her occasional visits to this forum do brighten up the day, and though I've never had the pleasure of meeting the young lady, it's easy to see she has a delightful sense of humor. Don't hold her beauty against her, fellas—it's just an occupational hazard of being a model.
Oh, and William: For Pete's sake, tell her to use the correct hand, next time!
Do you realize that you might be talking about someone's mother? Some of the pictures the members post of old cars, were actually pictures taken by someone in the family. I think the two women in the first pictue look like good looking women of that era.
Norm
I think they're both cute. I'll take the one on the right. You guys can fight over the other one.
Here we see some gals that stopped in Minneapolis. Notice the similar dress...even a headband!
I keep my crank up all day without a sling even at 80 ears of age, but the crank is 92 years old.
Not only are Viola LaLonde and Elizabeth Van Tuyl very fine looking girls, they have (had) the adventurous spirit that makes them exciting too. And Lance, those are the same girls.
They're all good looking women. Thanks for sticking up for me Fred. I like the the smile on the guy sitting in the speedster in John's photo. I would probably look the same if I were sitting that close to them. Any thoughts what he might be thinking?
Happy motoring, Warren
Warren,
I doubt if there's much actual thinking going on, which I'm told is the problem with us men.
A. Gustaf Bryngelson, I'm up in the air about the girls, but that isn't the same T!
The T in the first two pics appears to be a brand new '22. The T in the last pic is what, a '23 to '25 and looks well used? Whatever these girls are doing, they appear to be very dedicated to it.
Them two gals are keepers both back in the day and today as well ....
Call me old fashioned - call me sentimental - just don't call me late for dinner ....
Jim
Warren - That fellow sitting the speedster with the smile on his face is our Carbon Canyon Model "T" Club past president (2012) and an absolute gentleman of the first order despite the smile! And you might be interested to know that he hand built that beautiful speedster in his shop in about one year. It is bright red and you will see it on various "past event" pages of the CCMTC web site (if you'd care to look). Yeah, I know,.......what speedster, right? Go back and look at the ENTIRE picture you rascals,........harold
Jim...the hottie in the bikini can ride with me ANY day!!
Thanks Harold, for that information. I did go back and look at the speedster, very nice workmanship. I did say "I would probably look the same if I were sitting that close to them".
Happy motoring, Warren
Notice how the T in the first pic looks something other than black due to glare. Similar to the engine color photos in a different thread.
You could easily argue red or green.

Owning a Model T is a good way to meet pretty young women. Well, at least the young part is accurate.
All the women I seem to meet with the T are significantly older than me
Proof that Model T's are a girl magnet. Look what happened when I parked my 20. There was no room for me. Actually this is my wife's car. Even Mennonite girls like Model T's. My wife giving them a ride.
Dang, this is a tough crowd sometimes!
I'm 49. I think they are both kinda cute. When I was a teenager, I used to think all women in old pictures were ugly. I'm sure it had a lot to do with the hair styles that were dramatically different from what I was used to seeing. As I've aged, I have learned to look past things like that. And like I said, I'd take either one. There's a certain allure to a girl willing to get greasy. Matter of fact, I never dated a girl for very long if she wasn't willing to at least hang out with me while I worked on my car. If she helped, all the better. Married the daughter of a mechanic/body man.
Judge not! ws

Neat Model T shot, I should have posted it with the other's
I told everyone the T was a chick magnet!
Happy motoring, Warren
Re the Mennonite girls
I have heard of the Amish.
From here most of the girls appear to be wearing glasses.
They look soo alike as well. Are they sisters?
Cheers,
Manuel in Oz
Troop, if you show us that picture of your high school sweetheart again some of us are going to be sick for sure.
Manuel, Mennonite's are similar to the Amish but not as strict. We don't know if they are sisters as we were giving Model T rides at a local museum.
BS MIKE!!! Man up; that's the pic of the date you sent me 3 weeks ago from yer I-phone. If I remember correctly, you said she brought her own talcum powder with her. MAN! The things I hafta put up with here! Go visit the new MTFCI forum and check in! ws
We have a great Mennonite family as neighbors, they don't avoid modern machinery--in fact, the Father is a machinist. Their singing harmony is different from what one usually hears, but very melodic.
T'
David D.
I encounter Mennonites up here at places like Menards all the time. Very courteous and friendly. Amish are very "clannish" and carry that "If you aint Dutch you aint much" attitude. And yes, I can say that because Im 1/4 Dutch and my ex wife was full blooded Dutch Christian Reformed.
Awww Fred, you went and cracked my normal bulletproof exterior, now I think I'll go pout and sniff!!
As mentioned also "beauty" is in the eyes of the beholder. To me, there is NOTHING in this world that is more beautiful than an 18 hand tall Percheron horse that has champagne body hair and blonde mane and tail! My wife has decided to label me weird because I go doe eyed with a jaw drop when we come across one! She doesn't quite 'get' the answer of 'The makers most beautiful creature...present company excluded!' And I'm not even from Kentucky!
George
You must have been a horse in the last life!
Uh, we're Mennonite...........
Well, the more liberal type. My Grandmother on my Mom's side was Amish, from Kalona Iowa. However my Dad's family were Lutheran (sort of, if you wanted a Sunday paper, you had to go to church, otherwise, no problem).
As a result, my parents "split the difference" and became Methodist.
When my wife and I moved back to our small town, I told her we would try several churches, and she could decide. The first one we happened to stop at was Mennonite, and we stuck. Go figure.
Rob
Well.... I am way past wanting to meet pretty young women. I don't have the time needed to school one of them. I am looking for an older and wiser babe who has a clue and wants to ride in a T in order to experience life in the slow lane!
Paul,you forgot ,Visually impaired..... (G)
Jack,
No, I did not. As you well know I am already visually impaired.
Look at all these young ladies, just waiting to go for a ride with me!
Happy motoring, Warren
the gals in the orig pose, shouldn't have any trouble using the reverse pedal
Stuart - Good "point"! Actually, four good "points",...pun intended!
When a woman is young, she won't leave the house without fixing her hair and makeup. Judging by Warren's picture, there comes an age when a woman doesn't mind leaving the house without her teeth. I still like bikini babe Christina the best. Jim Patrick
I guess it works for girls also!
Wonder how many guys showed up to get her T a running!
Count me first in line, although I doubt it is a Model T, I still want to help.
Happy motoring, Warren
I doubt if there are many T guys, upon seeing the situation in Charles photo, who would say, "Too bad for you girl, it's not a T so I can't help!"
I would like to see the reflection in the fender
I don't know about you guys. The two girls in the first photo would be my choice, and I would like to meet them even now, as they have to be interesting women.
in charles picture looks like the lady is peeing on the car
Dream on Robert. LOL
Would anyone pass her by even though she's not under a T? Actually, when she sees your T she'll know you have class and will probably drive away with you.
Cute shoes but I think she has some dirt between her two big toes.
I would stop in a heart beat.
My heart did stop in a beat.
We're getting awfully close to an R rating fellas LOL! Jim
Hello.
Just a little quiz for the last two photos ...
Both cars are the same manufacturer, but different year.
What is the mark of the car, the model? And Year built?
I know the answer but I will tell you later ......
Olivier
What cars?
So we maybe going about this deal all wrong, what ever kind of car that is that has all the pretty girls working on them, just maybe that's what we should be driving. Makes sense too me!
Charley
Anyone notice anything unusual about this photo, Royce's car?
These two photos ..... you know cars with these charming woman.
What ever they are, looks like they were not very dependable.
"Anyone notice anything unusual about this photo, Royce's car?"
Hooters orange??? ws
I think that orange car is a Hootermobile about 1914 or there about. Didn't know the old boy had it in him.
Charley
The color of the car matches the Hooter girls shorts, and the guys are not looking at her, strange.
Royce and his Car visiting HOOTERS, well now we know. Nice picture.
Bob
Yes, true zealot car guys are not looking at the girl, just the car.....
Veering off topic a bit, but still related to the above posts, some of you are old enough to remember the TV show "Petticoat Junction". Our dear friend Linda Henning played the part of "Betty Jo" on the series, which was created by her father Paul Henning. I have asked her whether the fact that three nubile young women were main characters on the show, and the opening scene each week shows them supposedly "skinny-dipping" in the railroad water tank, had anything to do with Paul naming the show's fictional location "Hooterville"! She claims the expression "hooters" didn't at that time have the connotation we now associate with it---but I still wonder! :-)
Roy
After careful examination I saw that both the car and girl have white shoes!
C'mon, Royce! Can't get your crank even part way up with a pretty girl like that in the picture??
On the photo of Roy's I notice that all men look at cars and nobody is watching the girl ....... and you? What are you looking?
Right for the car on the other two photos: it's French car, Citroën.
The first is a model AC4 1929 and the second a 1932 model C6G certainly shoot in Great Britain.
Olivier
A pretty girl can be seen almost any day, but a pretty Model T is rare. That's why.
Norm
No i can see a car every day but in my country (or region of my county) the other one is rare.
They might not be looking at my Model T, but I can dream they're looking at me. I always wonder why they put pretty women's photos in car/products ads, any ideas?
Happy motoring, Warren
