Hi Guys..
I'm in the process of putting together the fuel system for my 16 touring. I know I need a shut off valve. There was a gas filter in the line when I took it apart, but I'm not sure if it needs one or not...
Thanks,
Michael
If the tank is clean, the original type sediment bulb with a good screen will work fine. A filter might work on level ground at slow or medium speeds if the filter is not too restrictive, however, in mountains where there is less gravity pressure and more fuel needed to climb the hills, the car will starve for fuel with a filter.

Thanks Norman.
A friend of mine had a filter on his car and it wouldn't start. I suggested he remove it and he did. The car started right up and ran great. It looks more correct too.
A glass bowl type filter is OK, but that's really just another version of the sediment bulb already on your car. You definitely do NOT want a modern filter like one of those paper things.
