These carburetors are a knock off of the Holley NH. The glow coil is missing on this one and the flapper behind the throttle is missing which lets you see it's a straight thru design. If someone has a flapper for this carb that their willing to sell send me a PM.

Jay

Check with Stan Howe, he did mine and it works great.

I have one that works great while going down the road, but will not idle at all and is very hard to start.

What do I need to fix it?

The little flapper is there to aid in idle adjustment. They are often broken/missing. If you are creative, you can make one.

Those are my favorite carb. I've driven many thousands of miles with them. They're very simple, and easy to work on.

Derek -- If yours has the flapper, you might be flooding it. They take very little choke because of the flapper, which acts more or less like an "automatic choke." And it should idle well too. As Uncle Jack says, if yours doesn't have the flapper, you need one.
