I just noticed two of the wires to the timer shorted and burnt on the firewall today on our 1915 Roadster-pickup. I keep the loom going to the time tucked behind the hood former and the firewall bracket and it looks like the square nut on the bracket rubbed through one of the wires causing two of them to burn. I was lucky it didn't keep on burning! Just a heads up to others with a brass era T to check and see if your loom is rubbing in the same area.
Looks like one of the spark plug wires got a little too close to something hot also! I've had that happen too, they like to settle down on hot spots. Thanks for the loom suggestion, I'll check my '15 and when I get the engine put back in it, will be sure to route it away from anything chaffing.
Maybe Ford should send out a recall. Thanks Jay
