Ken - I'd consider this to be much more than just an "interesting article regarding engine bearing failures" as you stated! This is for sure, a very thorough study of insert type bearings and Clevite is a very old and respected company. I can't help wondering how much of this information would apply directly to poured and align-bored babbitt bearings as we have in our old Fords??? I would think most of it, however I would also think that it would take a very highly qualified mechanical engineer to answer that question. Can't help but think that reading and careful study of this information (which I intend to do) would be quite a learning experience! Thanks so much for posting this site Ken,.....now, if I could only RETAIN a fraction of all this info,....ha,ha,......harold

Meant to make one further comment, probably in my much too "wordy" way,.........I can't help but think that if nothing else, study of this web site on bearings would make a person much more knowledgeable and "informed" when conversing with personnel at the machine shop. And, maybe even help in being able to determine how "qualified" a machinist is! I personally do not believe that ALL machinists at the local auto parts store are "EXPERTS"! FWIW,.......harold

P.S. Thanks again Ken!!!
