Hi All,
I just recharged my magneto in the car using the 36 volt / compass method. It took me 45 minutes to accomplish the job, that included robbing batteries from other vehicles to do the job (although I will admit that two of them are still on the shop floor)
The engine stars on a quarter turn easily and the head lights are bright enough to drive at night with out a full moon. A few nights ago, we were out late and had to drive home in low gear to get enough light to see where the road was, but I think high gear is going to be used tonight. A big thank you to all those who have taught this mentally impaired beginner to get the most out of a very interesting vehicle.
Thanks
Gus
Glad to hear you had success Gus, but please don't get too brave and overdrive your headlights (meaning driving too fast) as some Moose are quite low !!
Regards,
Garnet
Hey Garnet,
It has been twenty years since I saw any moose here, I worry more about Angus cows, but you are right, just because you can see the road, you still need to see what is down the road. I would like to be able to travel in high at an idle, which is fairly slow, but before, the oil lamps put out more light than the head lights at an idle.
I just went through the same recharge process, pretty amazing stuff!!!
Yeah, Nowell, I think it must be voodoo or something. there is no way that is going to work
