I have never toured but I think I would like to attend the Ohio Jamboree, I have a plain Model T, no ruxstell or rocky mt. brakes, is this ok? What do I need to know or what questions to ask?

Rex:

GO register, if necessary, go over your car with the safety checklist, pack up some spare parts, tools & have a great time making new friends

The Ohio Jamboree will be held on the great FLAT plains of Northwest Ohio. You can't buy a real hill in this part of the country. Most of this part of Ohio was an ancient sea and what that did not flatten the ice age glaciers did. You will get along fine without a Ruckstell and Rocky Mountain brakes.

Thanks Jack, I'm in southern Ohio where it's hill to hill!

Just a question. I have never driven my T long distances on a tour, although past owner drove it all over the US on tours. What happens to a T on a tour if it breaks down and it can not be immediately fixed? I have heard some tours have a truck and trailer you can pay to have it brought back to your trailer at the starting point? Who long does the Ohio tour last? 8 hour drive??

Many tours have pickup and trailer following at the end line. In all of the cases I'm aware of, these were manned by volunteers. If you have AAA it's a non-issue.
Don't let this be a deal breaker, relax and enjoy the tour.
In the worst case some one will give you a ride back to the host location to get your tow vehicle.
If you have a problem you probably have more offers of assistance than you need or maybe even want.

The Ohio Jamboree always has a tow vehicle, and if a break, down there are always plenty to help get it back touring for next day if possible!I have always brought extra parts just in case.

Dave/Rex---join us! the Jamboree is not a long distance tour----just some reasonable touring, on a daily basis--maybe 125 miles or less. Best weekend touring available over Labor day. lots of help if you might need it---always fun to join a 125 plus group of Model T enthusists who look forward to an easy, fun time to drive the Ts. hope to see you there---paul
