Having a couple of extra Winfield carbs to sell, I went to the www.NWVS.org tech page the other day for the first time in years. I belonged at one time about a dozen years ago, but my renewal notice got lost and I fell away from it.
Anyhow, there is a pdf of a terrific VF article on the amazing Ed Winfield, written by crazy Chris Egsgaard, no less. http://www.nwvs.org/Technical/2104EdWinfield.pdf
I was surprised today to see this pic in the Winfield story, as I had forgotten all about it.
Then in 2005 I found this pic on the wall at Original Mike's restaurant in Santa Ana. The people weren't identified, but the driver doesn't look like the young kid Ed in the first pic. I had no idea it was Ed Winfield's second car. At first I thought the Kant-Skore was a joke about the car never winning races...
Tyrone Thomas liked the logo so much he copied it in 2008 from the pic I had posted here.
Where is your car now, Tyrone?
Rick, good to see the old car. I sold it to a fella in Virginia some 4 years ago. I heard from him once since. And once on the forum. I later saw the car on ebay for sell but the reserve was not meet. I would think about buying it back if I heard from him. Have thought about building another like it.
Thanks for the photo's above. Take care.
