Can anyone identify this car? Thank you, Kathy
Packard!
Yep, about 1906.
Yeah, definitely a Packard. Oh, wouldn't I love to have one of those as a playmate for my Model T!

Welcome to the group.

Would be kinda sorta like having a new Corvette today....sorry...perhaps a new Shelby GT500?
Ah, This is so helpful! Thank you all! This fellow supposedly owned the first privately owned car in St. Louis, Missouri, and 1906 might fit that timeline. Thanks again, Kathy
He looks pretty dapper, Kathy. Does the record reflect who he was?
He may have been the first person to own a car in St. Louis but it certainly was not that car.
The first commercially built automobile to be owned by a St. Louis resident would have been at least 1899 or 1900 if not slightly earlier.
There were quite a few automobile manufacturers in the U.S. in 1899 and 1900, and there were also manufacturers in St. Louis including the St. Louis Automobile Co. founded by George Dorris and John French.
You may want to contact George Dorris, III. He may be able to steer you in the right direction regarding early automobile history in St. Louis. He owns two St. Louis automobiles (both 1903, I believe).
He may have owned the first private car, but that's probably not it. By 1906 a big city like Saint Louis would have had a lot of cars. I think the city's first one would have been an earlier model. That's just a semi-educated guess.
