I posted this in Jay's "Accessory of the Day" thread, but was too late to get any comment...so you U&J guys pleas look this over and tell me what I'm missing.

I'm pretty sure that I didn't get all of it right with regards to the innards, but hopefully I'm close. The only part I was fairly sure of was the manifold gasket, it would also be nice if some of the parts like the float valve or the float itself were interchangeable with catalog parts. Also the thread and screw size would be nice.

To be effective, an illustration should explain it's subject through it's assembly and information about the various parts that make up that assembly, if it doesn't, it's just a pretty picture. I would like this to be something more than a pretty picture please...

LOL, noticed the needle valve looked a little too large for the assembly...

This should be the right proportions...

Martin, Excellent work!
I took the carb as much as I dare and took some photos for you, hope these help

The nut screws off the needle.

Here's the throttle section.

here's looking down on the venturi and the parts above it disassembled in order.

Thanks Jay, great pictures, just exactly what I needed to see! The venturi looks to be made of a different material, does it drop in or is it molded in?

Jay, the nut on the needle is a jam nut right?

I think the venturi is pressed in and looks like pot metal.
The nut on the needle screws all the way off. I was lazy and didn't do it to take the photo.

I am sure Stan Howe could answer some of your more hands on questions since he has ground up restored a number of these carbs.

Keep up the great work!!!

Based upon what you gave me these are the correction. Because of the 30/30 iso plain there are some details you wont be able to see in this view. If a literal assembly booklet were to be made, showing a step by step assembly of this carburetor, then those details would certainly be shown and highlighted.

Newest revision...Stan Howe cleared up the mystery for me. It had to do with the needles nut and how it fitted to the bottom of the carb.

Damn aberrations...sometimes the lines just go wonky! Wish I could delete the above one and let this one stand in it's place.

Thank you Jay for your additional picture and you Stan for the e-mail that cleared up the needle's nut. I'll draw anything I get enough pictures of and I'm pretty curious about the Stromberg OF, must be a lot of goodies to draw inside that, lol. :-)
