I know these have been discussed on a previous forum, but I can't find it by searching. I have a front and rear set of genuine Ford axle snubbers (cable type). How much tension are they supposed to have? How can I tell if they just have a lot of tension, or they are rusted and froze on the inside without taking them apart? If they are supposed to have a lot of tension, what is the best and safest way to install then to avoid injury?

Terry

Don't have info on how much tension, but here is an old post on the Ford snubbers.

Not knowing exactly how to take one apart to restore, I'm going to clamp the mounting bracket on each snubber in a vise and gently pull on the cable with a "come along" to see if there is any movement or if they appear to be frozen.
