I need a source, description and part number for a socket that will fit the square ends of the main bearing cap bolts please. I don't have an original ford tool for this.

You need an 8 point 9/16 socket from Sears or Snap On. If you are flush with cash, get it from Snap On. I haven't seen any Chinese sockets this size.
