Attended two car shows this weekend - Saturday was Wheelfest in Orangeville - 500+ cars in attendance, everything from Antique cars to Bikes. I won a top ten for the truck category, and a Memorial Award (the family picks their favourite from everything in attendance) - I was shocked to win it.
Went yesterday to another show with about 250 cars, and took 1st place for the 29 and under category.
Here is a pic of the trophy with the truck.
The awards/trophies always take a back seat to how much fun I have at these shows. I always meet lots of great folks!
Excellent.
I enjoy shows too. I always interact with all the spectators. Open the hood, open the coil box, lay out all my tools, let kids use the jack, explain the rim spreader, explain about the operation of the T, how it has no pumps, how the mag works, how the tranny works, hand start it, let others hand start it, kill one cylinder at a time by holding the points open until it runs on only one cylinder....People are amazed. Last show I went to, I was caught up in talking to some folks and never even went up to the stage where they were giving out trophies to see if I won anything.
