In the first pic, he is getting ready to go fly a kite, but I am trying to figure out what he is going to do with the two Campbell's Soup cans.
The soup cans are an early form of the telephone. You can see part of the string.
Believe it or not, he is doing an airborn seed dispersal test.
What is the seattle to hazelton car
Different photos of the Seattle to Hazelton car have been posted before. It is a 1911 Flanders.
I am curious what the "seed dispersal" test is in preparation for. Maybe reforestation?
Nice picture of a 1916 runabout.
Thank you Erich B!

Wayne, all I know is it was some college thing. Maybe just research? Maybe it was hemp seeds? Not sure. That is a T isn't it?
The car with the "kite" or "seed dispersal test" is not a Ford. I can't see anything that tells me what it is. The fender is quite distinctive, but I do not recognize it.
A nice coupe in the car lineup in the next photo. I can't tell if it has one sidelamp and a spotlamp, or maybe two spotlamps on the one side? Or maybe a reflection of the cowl and? No sidelamp on the other side though.
The car behind the Flanders is about 1930. Maybe a Studebaker? The Flanders seems to have been in pretty good shape and gotten around for being almost twenty years old at the time!
Great photos! Thanks.

Looks like a big reel of string mounted to the fender for the kite. Jim Patrick
