In all the auto restoration and chopper building shows I have seen on TV, I have never seen a high gloss mirror-like, powder coated finish. They have all been a dull satin finish. Is this because of the preference of the builder for satin finishes or is it because powder coating in incapable of producing a high gloss finish? Thank you. Jim Patrick
I am thinking it must be builder preference and dull satin finishes seem to be in vogue with some of the younger set.I know powder coating is available in high gloss as I have had lots of part done in high gloss including several sandrail frames.
I have model T parts that have a high gloss finish the are Powder Coated. You need to tell the Powder Coating source that you want a high gloss finish.....Not a dull satin finish.
Powder coating is popular for wire wheels and they normally have a high gloss finish.
