That is a picture of the test car for the solid top design that Ford used later on the late 50's and early 60's "T" Birds that folded into the trunk.

I should know -- A friend once lent me his Austin Healey Sprite. Maybe it was a MG Midget! OK it was a Sprigit! Anyway the only way I could get in the car was to open the front of the top --
