Does anyone have any information or original plans for the Leather Top Straps and the Leather Bow Side Straps?
Are the straps sewn, riveted, or both? I have been told that they are just sewn and have been told that they are sewn and riveted. I have also been told that they are sewn with 2 rivets.
Thank you,
Pete Ratledge
Russ Furstnow is your man.
While I don't have Ford blueprints for the side straps, I have seen many original examples of these side straps. These straps hold the small brass cotter pins. The examples I've seen have one small rivet holding the cotter pin to the small strap.

I have the prints; Russ's observations are correct.
I think Pete is talking about the top straps than go from the front bow to the fender bracket loop.
I have some ends of top straps that came with my car. My car had a new top put on it within the first 20 years, I have no way of knowing if the straps were replaced or not. That being the case, I don't know for a fact if the ends I have are original or not. They are both stitched and riveted. However, the stitching goes over the loop, so it would have been decorative, not functional. This leads me to believe they are not original, but this is just speculation.
However, when Russ made mine, I had him rivet and stitch them. Sorry no picture.
I'd be interested in seeing the prints.

I have the prints for the side bow straps and the 1913-15 top to windshield strap, the ones that use the loop buckle in place of riveting.
Gentlemen,
To update my original post on the top straps, I am looking for the documentation for the straps that go from the front of the top to the fender braces, inside the back of the top to the top of the body and the top bow straps.

Are the prints available for 1910?
