Had a loose spark control lever. Discovered that the hole in the control rod was woggled out. Can't replace the rod at this time without taking the whole column out and disassemble and re-rivet. Had tried an epoxy but it didn't last as long as I had hoped. Looking for ideas on fix. Drill out and go larger pin ???

Weld up the old hole and re-drill it

George

If you need a quick fix without pulling the column out, try JB Weld. Its vastly different than plain epoxy. Just be sure you wash the pin holes & pin with acetone before JB welding. Put the old pin in the control rod hole before JB welding.

If you want a permanent fix, and its not wallered too badly, then drill out for the next size larger pin. Alternately us a small machine screw & nut to make it easy to remove in the future.

I sell it at the pharmacy. Cost you about $50.

Dave are you talking about rear end lube?

Well fixed it today. Couldn't get lever off so I drilled it out in place and pinned it with a rollpin. Nice and solid (for now ??) and back in time. Took it for a spin and behaved wonderfully.
