Ok, so I have my new slow speed shaft, notch, pins, etc. but I don't see how this shaft will fit correctly into the hogshead. I got the shaft for bands with non-detachable ears, but it's way too long to fit with the adjustment stud in the other side of the hogshead. I must be missing something here. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the poor quality photo, but you can see how much longer the new shaft is compared with my old one when the pin holes are lined-up.

You are using the wrong adjustment screw. You need the one that is hollow and goes over the shaft. The one in your picture was used with the removable ear bands.

Jack, thanks for the reply. I'm using the parts that came off the car, so it must've worked. I'm assuming with the new (longer) shaft, the hollow adjustment screw is appropriate. I guess I can just order the shorter shaft and use the adjustment screw that I have, correct? Or can I cut some of the smaller diameter part of the shaft off to match the length of the old one?

You can do what I did and just cut the shaft to the correct length. Worked like a champ for me.
