Oh, Wow;;; That sounded like do it my way, or don't help me!

Let me explain; I had an aversion towards cell phones, I wasn't important enough to need one. But Abagail was important enough for me to need two of them. She rarely called me, but when I called to see how she was doing, I could let her know I was on my way back home. They were old clam shell LG phones. Small 0-10 keys, that i had difficulty seeing, let alone hitting the right key for the exact number of times to make a message. So I have the texting shut off permanently disabled.

Or as an alternative, please PM me with a phone #. Don't want one of the smart phones, this one is too smart for me.

Thanx

Hey Jim,
I do not do texts either, they cost me two bits for every unwanted one I get, I do not mind paying for one that gives me information, but if you let someone send an important text, they think it is ok to text to tell you they just had lunch or something.

I had my cell phone carrier disable the text option on my phone, so it is not an issue.

Looks like a trend here. I had texting turned off when I kept getting religious proselytizing I had to pay for.

I have never sent a text with my phone but had a few sent to me. Last one I got was from an amish guy that was doing some work for me. Text read;

CALL ME AMOS

Even the amish are ahead of me when it comes to cell phones!

I have 2 teenagers. They text each other in the back seat of the car. I learned to text because they do not answer their phone. It is the only way to communicate with them some days.

p.s. Sorry I do not have the piece you are looking for.

Am I missing something here? Looks like Jim is asking someone to call his phone and please don't send him a text message. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me...

Jim was too busy this evening cruising his TT down El Camino Real to reply to your texts :-) Streets were blocked off for cruising and he was showing his ride off!

At least you know he isn't texting while cruising in his TT like half the idiots in Califunny!
I do text (never while driving). Wouldn't ever hear from the youngest son otherwise.
Sorry, I don't have the part you need either.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2

To me, this thread pretty much verifies what I've thought all along,......"texting" is "kid stuff"! Guess I just don't "get it"! Seems to me like really a step backwards. I'd compare texting to,......choosing to ride a horse down to the grocery store instead of driving the car that's in the garage.

Text message is as useful as sending notes but sometimes they make no sense.

Thanx to everyone who responded to my plea for help. The first response was from a gentleman from Minnesota as I was walking out the door just before $630 Ayem. I had several meetings that day and called him back later I have a backing plate on the way. I finished up the day participating in Cruise Night. About a 3 1/4 mile loop. A large crowd, and about 45 min after the event I was driving back thru town and saw many groups hanging and enjoying the evening. It had cooled down from 99º to the low 80s. Humidity was in the teens.
Was wore out, came home and went to bed.
