I just returned from my car's first tour. We went camping at the tour master's cabin. Large amounts of smoke blowing in from the American fire two counties away gave a surreal look to this post card type photo taken by Jessica Bamber Ryan:

Keith, after looking down towards the lake and campsites of the Donnor-Reed party we did indeed go to lunch. Not pot-luck but we did sit around and chew the fat!

No, but while we were busy fat chewing two Calfire personel stopped in front of my car, got out and photographed the car. If they had needed a ladder I might have been in trouble!
For those of you who are not up on your history, or the references to "pot luck" dinners and "chewing the fat", here is the plaque at the locale where the Donner party was forced to encamp for the winter of 1846-47 when they failed to make it through the pass (now known as Donner Pass) high up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
