I have a bauer lock on my 24 and was able to figure out how to take it off and also help a friend who wrote to the forum just last week. I now need help with a steering wheel lock on my sons' 25. It is a Leland Motor Vehicle Lock. #74552. We cannot seem to find a pin (like the Bauer) that keeps the top from rotating. This is only a lock as the Bauer was also a fat man. We do not have a key but the wheel turns. We need to check the gears and lub the box. Any suggestions?
I found the set screw under the key boss. Took it out and the top of the steering box will rotate about a quarter turn. If I turn the steering shaft to full turn, the top will turn another quarter turn. Do you need the key to release the top completely? If so, I'm out of luck.
