Tail light kit T-5032 contains a spring attached to a fiber board. Where does the other end of spring attach? Also the kit contains 4 rubber grommets with ties. Where do they attach?
Thanks, Tom
If you can get a picture of wiring diagram and blow it up,it shows where all that stuff goes.
Hello Jack: Today I installed the copper tip that goes on the end of the tail light wire and plugs into the tail light socket. You gave me that part several years ago--Thank You! The wire diagram shows that the spring/fiber board goes near the end of the wire, close to tail light but still don't know where the spring attaches--somewhere under the chassis I assume!
The grommet things take the place of cotter pins down along that side. My books are all put up for right now,so I'm unable to help with the spring.Wire loops through the fiber board to take up slack.
The '26 with the tail lamp bracket on the fender has the wire looping under the car, and to the frame rail on the early '26.
Later in calendar year '26 and into '27, that wire was placed thru a hole provided in the rear skirt of the left rear fender.
The tail lamp wire spring/fiber board was used, like '25 and earlier wiring diagram. Spring end goes into a cotter pin on a near by castle nut.
Later '26-'27 with hole in rear fender skirt for the tail light wire, I put the wire in a thick loom to look better.
Thanks John, that's the drawing I was referring to.
Thank you Jack, John and Dan--Tomorrow my tail light will be wired and one more task completed.
I think Langs sells the kit with the spring, fiber board and grommets with wires. As Jack mentioned, most of the clips go through cotter pin holes, but two of them are wrapped around the battery carrier.
