i have 26 tt truck.how do you use sleeve puller on rear.
Pull the engine.
Kenny,I think you are asking about the rear end. If the bearing sleeve puller you plan on using is the kind that will work with axle in,you might not have to tear rear end down.If not,it will have to be disassembled.
Kenny There is a spring loaded pin on the puller. There is a hole in the rear sleeve that the pin will index when the puller is inserted inside the sleeve. You will have to turn the puller in order to find the hole in the sleeve with the pin. Inserting a rod (I used a #4 12" phillips screwdriver) through the two outside holes of the puller and using a twisting and pulling motion the sleeve slid out.
It works better in one direction than another. Turning one way tends to collapse the sleeve and pull it away from the housing wall. Turning the other way tends to expand it out against the housing wall.
When you use it to install your new sleeve, you will need to remove the grease cup from the housing. The button will be aligned with the grease cup hole when it is installed properly. You can then insert a screw driver or something similar through the hole and push in on the button to release it so you can get your puller back out.
I'm new to this.thanks for the help.
Kenny;
Sorry about that.
