Need a little help with this one. I need the specs on the two bolts that go through either side of the crank through the timer cover into the crankcase. I'm sure I have them, just need to know the length. Don't want to put the wrong ones in! Thanks.
Dave - This is not what you asked, but it occurred to me that of those two bolts you speak of, I think the one on the driver's side is quite often a special bolt which allows attachment of the forward end (delivery end) of an accessory outside oiler line. Not really too much "OT" here, as someone might give you the specs on a bolt that was intended for an outside oiler. Additionally, it might be a good time to consider if YOU want to install a special left side bolt if you plan to add an outside oiler line that would attach at that location. Just a thought,.......harold
Harold, thanks for the info. Since I still have the bolts out, it's not a problem to put the right ones on, in case I do want to add the extra oil line. Just need to know which ones to put in.
same bolt as the pan sides
1/2" is plenty, they don't bottom out in the pan thread hole, it's tapped through.
I think I have 1 or 1 1/4 inch in mine. I have cans of original Model T bolts I saved over the years and used the above length just to make sure. The holes are tapped all the way through so its not real critical.
Thanks all. I have a pair of 1.25" that will work nicely. Much appreciated.
