Are any of you guys planning on attending the hill climb I'm going to be in the area, and would like some input from some of guys that are familiar with the activities taking place.
Thanks Rich J.
I've never been. You might look up Brian "Red" Cress out of IL, Or Dennis Dakan from MO. Both have been active in recent years.
There will be scads of folks there
Used to be lots of fun. That was before, bikers, hot rods, muscle cars, and velvet pictures of Elvis. Plainly said they have ruined it for the folks who really enjoy running the hill in their old cars. The original event was excellent, but now it's just a carnival. Most people who go don't know a Model A from a Rolls-Royce and could care less.
As you can tell, I'm really disappointed that a super old car event has bitten the dust in the name of money!

Mike ,mike+john -THANK YOU for your input I'm going to be in the area and I am curious as to what to expect,I'm getting some parts in Chicago area and possibly ,do some swapping ,if there will be other T people there.
Richard,
There will be T people there. I go because I like to look at the old cars. In the past, I have run the hill several times. It's pretty challenging. That's why early auto makers brought their cars there. Hill climbing ability was very important. Especially in advertising their cars.
It's just very crowded these days. More so maybe this year because the weather looks to be beautiful.
I will be driving my Model A since the T is still under construction.
Hope you take the time to visit the event.

You should make time to visit if at all possible. There will be apx. 300 pre-war cars of all makes and models running the hill on Sunday. They typically have 25+ stock T's, 20+ modified T's and 60 Model A's. Yes, it is crowded. But if you love old cars, it is a must see event.

I visited the hill during the covered bridge tour. Talked to the Lions Club members that run it/ I was surprised at the 0.3 mile length of the run. Where do they park all the cars and visitors in that very small town and town square/ Any pictures?
Yes, it's not like the old days (less & less rusty old car parts vendors....& more & more velvet Elvis), but it's still a hoot. Where else can you go & watch model A's chirping their tires & Crosley's spilling their tranny's on the pavement & antique firetrucks with their dalmation dogs running trudging up the hill???
If you've not been there, it's a "must do at least once". I used to run my '50 Studebaker up the hill.

Just got back from the Hill Climb for the 2nd time. I saw 8 Model T Speedsters with various speed equipment and 4 other T's take on the hill. Only one vendor with a few T parts. As far as parts for any car (None). Lots of makes of cars taking on the hill. Started to sprinkle around 12 noon and we left, not sure what the afternoon brought. It is still something for everyone to attend at least once.
