I'm sorting, pricing and packing for Hershey all this week and next week, so I'm starting to get super stoked for it. Anybody else getting ready? What are people hoping to find there?
BUYERS
Ya, I suspect we're in for a repeat of last year, though. I still did alright but the crowds just weren't there. At least the price of gas is down about 40 cents from last year, so that might help a little.
I'll be there with a pocket of cash
Take a rain coat!
Norm
Well at least you can leave the mud boots at home. I do not miss that at all.
Jeff - It sounds like you'll be vending. If so, what space(s) will you be at.
I'll be going also and looking for some T parts....
Keith
I'll be over at OAI-21 thru 23 with about 2 tons of T stuff. Stop by and buy something heavy.
I will have Model A & T parts. Mostly A stuff.
Im at my spot in the late afternoons and Thursday morning. $1 pile is allways open, put cash in Truck Window. OBD 3-4
Start Vacation this afternoon!
I'm REALLY stoked for Hershey this year. Not sure why more than usual, but hey I won't complain. Maybe it's because I have some money burning a hole in my pocket this time.
Looking for a nice '25 steel truck bed. And maybe some more Z tools. Or some KRW stuff. Some better fenders for the '27 tudor would be nice too. Oh and hood. Wire wheels and hubs would be great.
Maybe I need more money...
I'd like to piece together a tool kit this year and look for a cool porcelain sign for the garage. Last year I bought a big old clock that hung in a dentist office. Hoping the weather is as nice the week of Hershey as it is now. This week has been sunny and in the low 70's.
Although, I will warn you that we haven't had hardly any rain in the last month. We are definitely overdue.
Hershey weather has been WAY too nice for the past 5-10 years. Just saying....
I remember the first year I went (79 I think). My dad had me dressed like an eskimo and when he opened the door of the camper it flew open in the howling wind. The snow was blowing sideways and I thought we were looking for antique cars buried at the North Pole or something. I've seen rain for days too. And mud 2 feet deep in certain fields with everything imaginable being yanked out by big tractors.
Last couple years or more I've walked around in shorts and a T-shirt in the afternoons at least, if not all day.
I could care less. It could rain all day the first day creating mud like a Russian spring offensive in WWII. The next day it could be so hot that it felt like the Sahara. And the third day I could walk around in snowshoes just to not sink above my neck in ice and snow. I don't care. As long as it's Hershey and I smell the chocolate and hear the "Hershey AACA man" on the PA. It'll be great.
"Please move this car or it will be TOAD"
Hey Jeff, I'll stop by to see you guys. Although you live about 20 minutes away I usually let you haul things to Hershey and I'll buy them there. Then I'll haul the parts back to Ohio! I'm going to try to come home with a small drum Ruckstell this year. Several of them around 2 years ago, but I only saw 2 high dollar ones there last year.
By the way.... the guy on the PA system.... I've been going over 30 years and it sure sounds like the same guy now as my 1st year. Anybody know?
Dave, It's only money, just go make more.
Craig, the nice weather will continue for one more year--this year. Since I will be retiring from teaching at the end of June, I will be able to resume attending Hershey next year. The period of nice weather you cite corresponds exactly to the time period when my boss decided I could no longer go, so now that I will be there again, the weather will resume the rotten pattern.
Jeff I need a '27 hogs head. Is that heavy enough for you? I am in OAF 15-17. If you have one for me let me know and I will stop by. I'd rather not drag one back from the red field like the large drum rear I bought there last year. I've been going to Hershey since '62 and I kinda miss the mud!
Yup, I've got one or two of those. I'll make sure I throw them in.
David - I've been going for over 20 years and it has always been that same voice over the PA.
The pavement is nice, but part of me misses the fields and the well worn paths through the grass. It seemed like a much bigger show back then.
So is Trish going to help Lang,s out again this year? Havent heard a peep from her in a while. Hope she is ok. Scott
Steven Lang said Trish isn't going to make it this year.
Anybody going to have a tie-rod/drag link for a '12 - '15? In decent shape? If I can't make it, I'll see if Joe Bell will bring it home for me.
Still trying to get thinks completed to bring which never ready gets done in whole. Still at my old spot a RCJ 50-51. Have a lot of fire related stuff as well as many T items. Bob
Anyone else hoping that Tommy Z will be driving one of the busses again this year? We have enjoyed his music and haircut the past two years. He had the bus decorated for Halloween the first year but I don't think it was last year (which I didn't mind - Halloween is stupid as far as I'm concerned).
You can't see his spikey hair in the pic but trust me it's there. Yes, I take pictures of EVERYTHING.
Craig
Chocolate field annex C4F 19 to 22 I will have some T parts and lots of junk eeerrrr I mean merchandise. Stop by and say hello, rest a bit, buy some veeery reasonably priced junk eeerrrr merchandise and have a drink (no purchase necessary I very seldom make expenses since diesel is still over 4 bux here in PA and I get 7.8 mpg on a good day but love it and we have a GREAT time regardless of the weather. Stop "buy" and say hello.
Might take the 24 Touring if I can find a closed trailer. (?)
I'll be in the edge of the Red Field @ RNC2 and RND2, near Light Post #2 near the crosswalk with my 15 Touring and whatever T parts I can fit in my trailer with the T and Golf Cart. Hope to bring all the body panels for a 15 touring and a 24-25 roadster (including the turtledeck)and a fiberglass T tub w/doors and turtledeck, white smoothies, 13-14 coilbox w/lid & switch, 1 brass and 1 high radiator tested to 16 lbs that will work til you can do better. Lots of 21" A-wire wheels, more T stuff, and even some 29 Chev stuff.
Never been there. I guess I'd better go.
Steve, you probably won't find a lot of the super deals you find at Kansas farm auctions, but, if you really need something you'll probably find it there!
I will be in spaces RCB45. Can't miss the Motor-home.
I will have T parts, Ford V-8 parts and a nice set of wooden TT Cab doors, and steel panel truck doors
I've been there very year since 1970.
Steve- If you've never been there, you really need to go. There is more T parts than Chickasha. Problem is: it is very spread out. I found you can talk better deals at Hershey than at Chickasha.
This is my first time selling there. I've heard something about having to spend the night parked in line Monday night to be able to get in to set up Tues morning. Any truth to this? Where is the entry point, and, where does the line form?
Will be there in the Chocolate Field at CE 75. Plan to bring some T sheet metal. My dad also will also be advertising his 1947 White flatbed truck for sale.
Safe travels everyone.
Can't wait; I'll be there Wednesday to Friday afternoon. High on my wanted list is a wood framed drivers door for my '24 Coupe. The more attached parts the better. If you have or come across one, let me know. 203 257-3576
Rich
Rich: I will a pair of doors there. They came off a coupe I parted out, NICE!!! CR 33-36. Come by early, these will not last. Other Coupe stuff too. Dan
Thanks Dan, I'll see you Wednesday morning.
While shopping at Hershey make certain to stop at the MTFCA site, C4Q38-39. Dan and Pam Conder, Bud and Karen Redding and Dena and I will be there. We will have cookies, apples, drinks and a place to sit if you need a break. Stop by and talk T's. Let us know how we are doing as your board of directors. I believe a former board member from LA (Gator) will be stopping in. Travel safe and we hope to see you at the swap meet.
Mike, there are several entry points for vendors. You are assigned to one depending on where your spaces are. I've never heard of anyone "having" to spend the night in some line or other in order to get in, but they do start lining up pretty early. The local gendarmerie is pretty strict about parking and keeping traffic moving on the roads, so I can't see them letting any substantial numbers of vehicles start piling up.
Having resigned from the school and leaving at the end of June, this is my LAST YEAR of being prevented from attending by the new boss. The old one sent me off to Hershey every year with his blessing, but he retired, and his replacement decided that she had to be the biggest, baddest hombre in Dodge, so I haven't been there since '08.
Sorry, that's actually CG 75 for anyone keeping track at home.
RV, it'll be good to see you over there once again.
If you have a bunch of old coils even with boxes that are falling apart, I would buy them from you if you bring them to Hershey. Just drop me a PM and tell me what space they are at.
The ten day forecast shows mostly sunny with highs in the high sixties and low seventies. Looks good.
Steve
Are you going to make the trip this year?
Would like to run into you and say Hi.
Larry
Watch out, here I come. Never been, so it's on the bucket list.
I am looking to buy some engines or blocks and cranks, if you have some get a hold of me C4I 29-31 Thanks 419-618-1025 cell I will have it on me Joe
Thanks, Dan! It will sure be good to be back.
Larry, if you do run into Steve, be sure to help him up again.
R.V.,
With pleasure as long as we aren't going after that same badly needed/can't live without part.
Larry
