I went over last night to get a 21 runabout started that had been sitting for a while. The battery was weak and some of the wiring needed clean up but after cleaning a few terminals was only getting a few volts to the terminals. We put the battery charger on. While the charger was on I installed a fresh set of plugs. I decided to turn the switch to battery, ya the coils were buzzing with the extra power the battery charger was providing. So we put water and gas in and checked the oil. Of course the carb started over flowing, taped the side a couple of times and that stopped it. I primed the motor and had Ric turn the key on, she fired right off, got to love them free starts! The guy Ric had gotten the car from had from time to time turned the motor over and kept oil in the cylinders so we had a good amount of smoke. After we let her run for a while I decided to try running on mag. She did, so I shut her down and with the key on mag gave her a couple of 1/4 turns and she fired off. I don't know which of of had the bigger grins on our mugs! I told him before I left to clean all the terminal and connections, replace the battery and do an oil change and how to install the muffler.
That's great. Always nice when things work like they should.
