So I have the rear Axle and drive shaft out from under the T. How do I remove the actual drive shaft from its housing. The book does not tell me how to do that.
Take out the two plugs right behind the u- joint ball then rotate the drive shaft until the u- joint pin lines up with the holes and drive it out. Next pull off the u- joint and slip the drive shaft out.

The u-joint pin should be riveted on both ends, so you'll most likely have to drill most of one end off before driving it out.
Get the U joint out and put the pinion nut back on a few threads. Stand the tube vertically and lift just the tube a few inches (not enough to let the shaft out of the upper bushing) and let the weight of the tube fall onto the pinion. Itll pop right off, then withdraw the driveshaft.
In the same position, lift the tube higher and let it drop catching the edge of the upper bushing to drive that out. Take the grease cups off first. ws
