Do any of the suppliers offer a mounting bracket for an accessory 26/27 Hall brand tail and stop lamp?
Thanks,
Stephen
I think the mounting bracket is the same, it's the license plate bracket that is different?
I think that the license plate bracket is what he is referring to, as the light won't mount to the Ford taillight mounting bracket without the bracket or some kind of modification. The license plate bracket is rarer than the stoplight, itself. I've found many more stoplights without the license bracket, than with the bracket. For that reason, I've started collecting Dodge license brackets. They aren't made, and look the same as Ford brackets, but they are a heck of a lot more plentiful. And when a license is mounted on the bracket, you don't see much of the bracket. Of course, for a show car, you've got to have the right thing. Stephen, if you need just the license bracket and will settle for a Dodge bracket, I'll see if I've got an extra.
Does anybody have a picture of the license plate bracket needed for this lamp? Is the fender mounted bracket used with both the stock tail light and with the stop light or is this one also different?
Thanks,
Stephen
Here is the license bracket mount for the '26-'27 Ford (Hall mfg.) stop tail lamp.
To make a 'near replica' is to purchase the repro '28 Model A license bracket.
To make the Model A work, you have to grind away some metal, and re-drill the mount holes, there is little left when you do, but it will work, only the judges will know what you did, esp. if you fill in or pound flat the 'Duo Lamp' logo stamped in the Model A part
Correct look of the real original Model T license plate bracket for holding the Accessory stop tail lamp.
View of what a modified Model A license plate bracket looks like when you cut away the metal to make the flat plate for mounting the Model T accessory stop tail lamp.
Yes, Stephen, both use the same stock T stand.
