Can't find this anywhere (well actually I can find it but each source shows a different way !)

Which way do the spring clamps (not shackles, not hangers) go on the rear spring?

Bolt on the top or the bottom ?

Thanks

Bud -- On your '15, the bolts go to the top, through the curled ends of one spring leaf. On later ones, the bolt is on the bottom, as Dave said. I don't know just when the change was made.

Thanks, I guess that explains why I couldn't find a consistent way in all the pictures I looked at!

Probably 1916 with the change to non-tapered springs.

As I have mentioned before, tapered rear springs were used in 1918.

That's right -- The front springs changed for the 1916 model year, but the rear ones changed for the 1919 model year (give or take a bit, since changes didn't occur exactly at the model year dates).
