got my t ready for the annual Thursday night ride to our local watering old last night. changed the plugs. crossed one and two. motor popped over and then backed up locking the bendex in the flywheel. loosened up the starter bolts (do not remove). lever forward. rocked it pretty hard. back tires actually skidded backwards 2 or 3 times an inch or so. my garage floor is smooth. it let go moving backwards while I jiggled the starter. oh ya. reversed the wires. had a wonderful time with my daughter and her dog and some chili nachos and cold drink. T on!
Wonderful! And congratulations.
Drive carefully, and enjoy (hopefully a lot for many years to come), W2
Yeah, Mike, Model T wiring is tricky. The coils and spark plug wires are in 1-2-3-4 order. The magic to get the 1-2-4-3 firing order is at the timer contacts.
I hope you tightened the starter bolts! That is a place to lose oil rapidly if they are loose.
Glad you got it going. Enjoy it.
