I do not know if these sill plates shall be painted or nikel.
Does anyone know this, or has anyone a picture showing.
Very grateful for this I have no idea about this.
I see nothing on my showing nikel residues.
Ake

Hello Ake,

Our1924 Fordor Sedan has aluminum sill plates. You plates appear to be aluminum. I am no expert on the earlier Closed Cars but I would think that they were probably were left unfinished. I like the upholstery and trim on your Coupelet. Best regards, John

Ake,

I have an unrestored 1922 Centerdoor. The sill plates are unfinished aluminum. Hope that helps.

The sill plates I put on my 22 Coupe look like the pictured ones and are definitely Steel. They are rusty now but showed no sings of plating and I can't remember if there were any traces of paint.

The car in the photo is not mine.
My sill plates are made of iron, and do not know how I eat puts them in the original.
The picture shows this car, look at this page;

The sill plates on my 24 Coupe are aluminum. They look pretty nice after I used a buffer to polish them.

My coupelet came with the optional black interior for 1916. Everything is painted black inside.
