Not Model T Ford, so don't read if OT posts offend you!
I know this is "off topic" but you guys sometimes come up with some amazing solutions so---
our fire district has a 1918 American Lafrance which was restored about 30 years ago. There are some inaccuracies and omissions that I am trying to correct. I am looking for the steering-column mounted choke control. I have searched the Internet and looked on ebay, with every description I could think of, but no luck. I am going to post a couple of pictures (taken of another rig) in the hope that maybe somebody out there can help!
Just wondering, how much,if any of the original setup is on your truck? Is it possiable to borrow this 1 and have some one cast 1 for you? I know folks here post photos of what they cast sometimes.
It's a longshot, but you might try contacting Jay Leno's "Big Dog Garage" via their website and send them your photos and request. They have interest in and have restored several old fire engines and might be able to give you some info.
Try Hal Fillinger. j
There is also a fire truck restoration shop in Hope Maine by the name of Firefly Restorations - might google them too.
