Will the top halves of a '23-'25 hood fit a '26-'27 cowl (I know the side curtains are different)?
Ron,
The 1923 hood is smaller than the 1924-25 T and 1924-1927 TT hood. Neither one of those years would fit the 1926-27 T very well. It could be made to fit -- but it would require some creative moving to line things up -- especially length wise as the 1924-25 hoods are 1 1/4 inch shorter than the 1926-27 hoods. The following were borrowed from Lang's and the web address for them is:
1924-25 car and 1924-1927 TT: http://www.modeltford.com/item/NO114.aspx
The 1926-27 hoods are 1 1/4 inch longer than the previous hoods.

Note if you are looking for a hood top for your 1925 T Tractor conversion -- from the photo on your profile it looks like it would take a standard 1924-25 hood. If it has the 1923 metal dash then that would not be the case. If you are talking about that conversion -- compare your firewall to the one below. If the reinforcement ridges are the same near the firewall bracket then you have the 1924-25 firewall. You may also measure it and determine which year it is. Thank you Phil Mino for posting the original photos with dimensions:
The 1923 metal dash/firewall is shown below. (It can be used on 1917-1923 Ts – from memory – I think spacers may be required – not sure about that one. Note High cowl Ts made during 1923 were considered 1924 model year cars by Ford but are sometimes called 1923s by their owners because that is what they were titled.)
Respectfully submitted,

Hap,
Thanks for all of that info!! My conversion has a hood already (put the graphics on it the other day). I'm looking at a doodlebug made from a '26-'27 and, if I get her, she'll need a hood. I have an extra '25 hood that is "seasoned" enough to match the rest of her patina, so I was wondering if it would fit.
