Saw or mill them off at the center line of the wrist pin hole and they make a good cigar ashtray...

Then mount them on the hitching post.

Why don't you guys like cast pistons? My engines run fine with them for years, so far. I don't mean to start a water pump discussion, I just don't understand.

Wes, you can't get oversized cast iron pistons anymore and sleeving the engine back to std diameter cylinders costs more money.

Actually cast iron pistons have a tendency to be slightly quieter and tend to idle nicer because of their heavier weight. Aluminum pistons are better for the engine at speed. Iron pistons are just fine on a T that gets driven 25-30 mph all the time, but most people want to drive 35-45...

Here is an aluminum A piston recycle project I made a few years back. Probably wouldn't work with a cast iron T piston though.....

Typical cat! Very cool lamp Erich...I'd like to have one of those.......Adam...I prefer 25-30 in my T's, guess I'd be an "iron piston guy"...gotta check my '12 with a magnet on a flex probe to see if they might just be iron, supposedly engine is original except for new valves. Of course that worries me a bit about an ever aging crank!
Tim
