I picked up a set of Rocky Mtn Brakes for a 26-27 rear at Hershey. Should I turn the outside of the Drums down to remove rust and pitting?
I have my own Brake lathe.
Thanks
I would not recommend turning down the original drums as they are thin to begin with. Only remove any old paint and rust with sand paper.
If the rust pitting is large and deep....find some better drums.
I agree with Les. Don't turn them. If they're too far gone, find better ones.
Glad I asked. Sandpaper will do the job.
I think you should package them up and send them my way since I am the one who was supposed to buy them at Hershey.
Good find!
I only bought two sets that morning. I left the other 4 sets that I saw alone.
I went looking for a set and never saw a single one. Three days of looking.
Greg,
Ditto.
I guess (as the song usta say) looking in all the wrong places....

I did see 1 set in the Red field on Thursday, not far from the 2 HCCT machines.
