This was listed on tbay, but it seems very suspicious.....the description screams nigerian....am i paranoid?
Ok, I'm no native speaker of english, but I don't sense anything way out of the ordinary here?
Maybe an elderly owner is helped by somebody more computer savvy but not much into Model T's to sell the speedster? Fun car, a Frontenac head adds to the appeal.
(If I had the money to buy, I would certainly visit and inspect it in person before buying any car over the net)
Very nice car. I'd be on it if I needed another T. The front suspension will have to be awfully stiff to keep the tires from hitting the fenders hard on Calif. streets and roads. A T with fenders needs stock clearance for the fenders. In fact, it may be raked, because the rear doesn't look to be lowered. I'd want to see a good side view.
This Texas Culvert was in Texas and I kept the speed up for the camera. We have stealth ones here that get the short wheelbase bucking. I hit one just yesterday at an intersection I travel frequently, but the light is almost always red when I get there and have probably never hit it before at 40 in the T.
No telling what the reserve is, but the parts are worth more than the current $3500 bid. It's listed as 1925, and most of it may be, but there's considerable brass era there too. Looks legit to me. I don't detect any accent in the writing.
I notice that the seller has zero history on ebay.
If I was interested, I'd send the seller a message asking if I could come and see the car, and then do it. It could be legit, or it could be a fraud too.
Keith
I agree with Keith. I wouldn't buy a car sight unseen. You can get burned either way, but it's less likely if you have a chance to inspect the thing yourself.
As an easy test, ask for some additional photo showing a view or feature not currently photographed. If the guy actually has the car, he can post a photo but, if he is re-using some photos he stole from the internet, he won't be able to do it. Either way, if a seller can't do you the courtesy of an extra photo, they're probably not worth dealing with anyway.
Anyone else notice only 2 pedals?
Look behind the shift knob for the reverse pedal. ws
Got it. Thanks ET
Can't be real, it has a water pump...
It has a disturbutor, too. My kind of Speedster.
The fellow listing it was very vaque. A 25 does not need to be converted to starter?
Does not even name the 2 speed rear. Most of us would fiqure Ruxstel but most T folks would say Ruxstel instead of 2 speed.
Model C engine? Never heard of it.Must be a typo.
